ndrea Lee, a rising LPGA Tour-star is highlighted by her first win in the Portland Classic of 2022. Lee has had success at every level, most notably at Standford University earning 9 wins during her collegiate career and spending 17 weeks as the most successful Women's Amateur throughout the World. In the year 2019, she was awarded the Mark H. McCormack Medal as the most highly ranked Women's Amateur at the end of the season. She made the transition to professional. The former amateur champion Andrea Lee is now making a name for herself on the professional circuit. The American LPGA Tour athlete has some surprising facts that you didn't know. Andrea Lee was born on 15th August 1998, in Los Angeles. Her first golf game was as a child at age 5 under the tuition of her father James. Over the course of four years she racked up 50 junior championships. She reached her finals at the US Women's Open 2014 at Pinehurst No. age 15 along with her dad playing as her caddie. Lee was invited by sponsors to attend the 15th ANA Inspiration on the LPGA Tour however she missed the cut by one shot. Lee was part of the United States' Junior Ryder Cup Junior Solheim Cup Curtis Cup and women's World Amateur Team Championship. She joined Stanford University and became its most decorated sportsperson at the time. Through the next three years she earned nine individual championships. Lee left Stanford University to turn pro in 2019. Her record as an amateur included 17 weeks on the World Amateur Golf Ranking. Lee completed her year as the top amateur, was awarded the Mark H. McCormack 2019 Medal. Lee had four hole-in-ones and one albatross when she was an amateur. Her debut year playing on the LPGA Tour saw her finish in two of the top 10 players. She came in seventh at the AIG Women's Open 2020, which was held in the Kingsbarns Golf Links. Lee was able to claim the first LPGA Tour triumph at the Portland Classic in 2022. Lee dedicated her win to her late grandfather Min who always considered me a champion and he believed in me from the beginning. It was a great honor to have him as a great-grandfather. I was sure he'd be paying attention. She had previously participated in soccer, taekwondo or figure skating. Lee's interests outside of golf are movies, shopping and performing. She also loves to snowboard.
